Pierre Hardy for Gap Spring/Summer 2010

Today, I visited a Gap store, and was surprised to see the new Pierre Hardy for Gap Spring/Summer 2010 shoes on display! I was completely blown away by the beauty and quality, and I will defiantly be looking into investing in a pair of wedges! Unfortunately, the shoe collection will not be available in Gap stores or online for purchase until late April! Here's the good news: the line (consisting of sandals) will be retailing from $80 to $120. Below, is a preview of the shoe collection.

Portraits of Hope

Today, I had the pleasure of working with Portraits of Hope in Marina Del Rey to take part in a community service project titled "Lifeguard Towers of Los Angeles 2009-2010". Portraits of Hope is a program which "conceives and develops one-of-a-kind motivational art projects that merge the production of dynamic public art works with creative therapy for hospitalized children and civic education for students of all ages". Ed Massey and Bernie Massey (Brothers) began portraits of hope in 1995 "initially for seriously ill and physically disabled children" as a way to enrich their lives through their participation in "creative, educational, high-profile, one-of-a-kind projects". Since their beginning, the program has painted airplanes, buildings, New York City taxis, blimps, tugboats, and NASCAR racecars. Now, they plan on covering more than 31 miles of Los Angeles beach lifeguard towers in paintings done by seriously ill children, school children and adults alike. For more information about this program, volunteer opportunities, or upcoming projects, click HERE.

New Designer Discount Shopping Website: TheOutnet.com

The Outnet.com is possibly the best of the "designer discount shopping websites" that I have seen. The long encyclopedia of brands and discounts ranging anywhere from 40% t0 80% off provide a perfect shopping expierence for a fashion lover! Designers include 3.1 Phillip Lim, A.P.C., Acne, Alexander McQueen, Alberta Ferretti, Bally, D&G, Fendi, Pucci, Zac Posen, Yves Saint Laurent, Stella Mccartney, Chloe and Miu Miu, to name a few. Plus, although one must "register" to be a member of this website, access is free and immediate. To register for Outnet.com, click HERE.

Stella Mccartney for Gap Kids

On March 29th, the second installment of the Stella Mccartney for Gap kids Spring/Summer 2010 collection will be debuting. Although it is a children's clothing line, the sizes are big enough to fit a "big kid." And yes, that does mean that parents can wear the collection, as well! I was fortunate enough to go to the opening event for the first installment of the collection, and the whole line looked fantastically chic! I anticipate a very cute collection for big kids and children alike. More photos to come.
