Rue La La!

Recently, as prompted by the "new age internet craze," (Yes, it does rhyme) shopping websites are constantly becoming more clever with the ways that they present themselves. For instance, websites like Gilt, Hautelook, and Rue La La are invitation-only shopping websites, which offer markdowns on designer clothing and goods. Luckily for you, (the reader) I have joined Rue La La, and I am inviting anyone who would like to join this shopping website. All that one must do to join this site, (which is QUITE easy) is click on the link below. That's it. Simplicity at its finest. Thank you.

J+ Jill Sander for Uniqlo!

Set to debut on January 14, 2010, Jil Sander has created yet another line for Uniqlo (+J by Jill Sander.) Incase you do not know what Uniqlo is, it is a more upscale american-apparel type of line which originates in Japan. The only store in the U.S. is located in Soho, New York. If one is looking for simple shirts, jackets, skirts, etc., this is a great place to visit! And, the prices are alike American Apparels' as well. The last line that Jil Sander and Uniqlo collaborated on together (which came out in October) sold very quick;y! This new line, like the last, is set to be very simple, with light colors and a good quality. The prices of this line range from $49.50-$149.50 (which is a very low compared to the usual Jil Sander clothing prices) The description of the +J clothing line reads:
Open the Future
Luxury will be Simplicity
Purity in design, beauty and comfort for all.
Quality for the people.
Basics are the common language.
The future is here : +J.

CHANEL at DECADESTWO

Tonight, I managed to travel all the way across town to Melrose Ave. to the store Decadestwo! Decadestwo is a second hand designer clothing store, located on Melrose Ave., in Los Angeles, California. For two days only, it has transformed into a Chanel Store (Just like the Chanel at 31 Rue Cambon In Paris, France!) Last night, a VIP event was held at the store to unveil the gathered collection. Today, it was open for the public to enjoy and purchase. For months, the store has been collecting Chanel quilted handbags, blazers, gowns, sweaters, shoes, costume jewelry, etc. Tho whole collection is divine! While I was there, I spotted a long belted deep-navy gown, made of silk that I would love to twirl in. I also found some cute blazers and jackets, a ruffled leather jacket in particular, which was black on the outside with greenish-blue ruffled collar. Of the shirts and sweaters, my favorite was a simple white long-sleeve with a flower in the middle, and ruffles along the sleeves! If only...

Dancing with Myself: a very sad interview for myself, by myself

An Interview with myself: Lilli

Who is your ultimate fashion icon?

I actually have a couple of fashion icons from different eras. Currently, I love the Olson sister’s fashion sense. I also love the stylings of Anna Wintour and Grace Coddington in Vogue. For the classics, I enjoy the legacy that both Audrey Hepburn and Jackie O. set. I love that they established a classic look that empowered women across the world, and created an appropriate style for the working women. I also greatly admire Coco Chanel, for her creation of her beautiful line, also known as Chanel.

How would you describe your style?

I would describe my style as a “bohoish” look with a classic yet updated way about it. I love to experiment with different types of clothing from different eras, and combine various brands together to create a full outfit. I am also in love with vintage/second hand clothing! A lot of the clothing that I wear tends to come from these fantastic stores!

What are your favorite brands?

As the more expensive brands go, I love the classic look of CHANEL. (who doesn’t?) But, I also have great fondness for YSL, AKRIS, D&G, Miu Miu, CHLOE, A.P.C and many others that I am forgetting!
